The symposium, themed "Lipid Metabolism and Physiology," invited 23 top scholars from the United States, Britain, Canada, Switzerland, Singapore, and China to give invited lectures. Nearly 300 representatives from universities and research institutions in multiple countries attended the symposium. Sheng-Cai Lin, CAS Member, and Nam-Hai Chua, Foreign CAS Member and Fellow of the Royal Society, served as co-chairs of the symposium.

Professor Johan Auwerx from the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Switzerland, and Academician Sheng-Cai Lin from Xiamen University, respectively delivered keynote speeches titled "Cross-species genetics to map new players in metabolism and aging " and "Glucose sensing constitutes a cure within ".

Seven international scholars, including Professor Antonio Vidal-Puig from the University of Cambridge, UK, Academician Stephen G. Young from the University of California, Los Angeles, USA, Professor David E. Cohen from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, USA, Professor Evan D. Rosen from Harvard Medical School, USA, Professor Susan E. They shared their cutting-edge research findings and engaged in in-depth discussions with the participants.

In addition, this symposium paid special attention to the growth of young scholars. Eleven outstanding young scholars were selected from the participants to give brief reports, and an academic poster presentation session was set up.
