报告人简介：Dr. Gong earned his Ph.D. from The Scripps Research Institute and is currently a Professor at the University of California Berkeley. He holds faculty appointments in several interdisciplinary programs, including the School of Optometry and Vision Science Program, the UC Berkeley-UCSF Graduate Program in Bioengineering, and the UCB Graduate Program in Comparative Biochemistry. He is also a member of the Berkeley Stem Cell Center.
His research focuses on understanding the fundamental mechanisms governing eye development, growth, and disease. By integrating approaches from genetics, molecular and cellular biology, biochemistry and tissue engineering, his laboratory investigates how the eye achieves proper focus and maintains clear vision throughout life.
